"I've been an Ashley Berry client for more than a decade. Recently moved to Alabama, where Ashley Berry cannot be my agent any longer, due to my relocation. 2 days before my policy was to expire, Jan. 16, 2026 I called their office, advised the situation, provided my new address and instructions to Not renew the policy, as well as the name of my new insurance co. They provided my new address to State Farm, but not the instruction to not renew, or perhaps State Farm disregarded the instructions from the agency. The agency sent me an email to respond to for this cancellation, which I immediately did. A week later, I find my bank account charged for the renewal of coverage. It seems that someone noted my new address, but not the cancellation. July 2025, went into the office, sat down with Mr. Berry and instructed him to remove collision and comp from 2 of my 3 vehicles. Later, I find that Mr. Berry made changes to only one of my vehicles. How does that get messed up, when I'm sitting across from him at his desk ? Lastly, a few years back, the agency changed one vehicle to a commercial policy, canceling one policy, and immediately replacing it, with another. State of NC was notified of the cancellation, but not the new policy which replaced it. NC later fined me $55 and to this day has me on their records as a person who has let his insurance lapse, which I never did. I like Ashley and especially like Michelle Weaver, but mistakes happen here repeatedly. Still awaiting my refund. State Farm took my money electronically, but won't be returning it that way. The refund will arrive by snail mail, I'm told."
"Thank you for being a loyal client of Ashley Berry State Farm for over a decade. We truly appreciate your trust and the opportunity to serve you all these years. I want to sincerely apologize for the frustration and inconvenience you experienced recently regarding your policy cancellation and coverage changes. The request to cancel your insurance was submitted immediately, however, I take full responsibility for the oversight on our part in not suspending your billing account to prevent the monthly payment from drafting after your cancellation request came in so close to your billing due date. It was a very busy day, and unfortunately, that step was missed. We have since reviewed our internal processes to prevent this from happening again. Regarding your visit in July 2025 to remove collision and comprehensive coverage on two vehicles, we submitted the changes exactly as you requested. However, the State Farm service team did not process the request correctly for both vehicles initially. Once we identified the error, we promptly corrected it and retroactively applied the coverage changes to the date you requested. As for the commercial policy issue in North Carolina, insurance requirements vary by state, and because you carried ladders on your van for work, a commercial policy was required under NC regulations. All active policies are transmitted electronically to the DMV, and coverage was continuous with no lapses on our end. If the NC DMV records show otherwise, it is unfortunately outside of our control. Regarding your refund, it was mailed out on January 28, 2026. We understand electronic refunds are more convenient, but State Farm processes refunds by mail in these situations. Please let us know if you do not receive it soon, and we will assist you in following up. We are grateful for your kind words about Michele and the team. She listened to my concerns , needs , as I had just moved to this new area and my husband was suddenly no longer able to drive . Unfortunately, we had a tree fall on the house a few years ago and my wife had no idea what to do other than call the agency. Within an hour or so Ashley showed up to help walk her thru the steps to have the tree removed from the attic to the roofers to tarping afterward. Of course assistance with the claim followed.
